You can achieve your goals. Whether weight loss or writing a novel, your dreams are attainable. Easier said than done, I know. Life and all its accompanying emotions can block our way, and at times we need buddies on our team to help us reach the goal line. That’s our job at Buddies Unlimited – to help you clear away the obstacles on the path to your goals and cheer like heck when you get there.
We must help ourselves before we can help others. Just like they tell you on the airplane - put on your own oxygen mask first, or you’ll run out of air and be no good to anyone. Buddies Unlimited was created to be your oxygen mask. It's mine, too, as it fulfills my life vision of using my skills and experience to help others achieve their dreams. As President & Head Coach of Buddies Unlimited, I am dedicated to making it work – that means it has to work for you. Buddies Unlimited will expand to offer many areas of Personal Coaching. Currently, we're proud to offer you Health & Weight Loss Coaching. We've gathered health professionals who are excited to use our coaching format as an avenue to share their knowledge and energy with you. As a life skills specialist, my years of guiding people towards success in the world included topics such as nutrition, health, food & activity choices. But we all know there’s more to losing weight than nutritional knowledge and learning to enjoy activities. What drives us are our emotions. Whether depression or frustration saps our energy away from an active lifestyle, or we are eating to swallow our feelings – it’s emotions that drive us to eat when we are not really hungry. My experience in group and individual counseling, and self-esteem and body image enhancement will help us explore your emotional eating patterns.

BIOGRAPHY:
Prior to four years as the Director of Marketing & Product Development for an educational toy company, Jennifer worked as an Adolescent, Adult, & Family Groupwork Consultant. She designed and facilitated solution-focused programs for groups using team initiatives and discussion to boost self-esteem, strengthen life skills, and positively restructure patterns of relating. Contracted positions included assimilation workshops for refugee assistance programs and facilitation of foster parent trainings and support groups in Rockland County, New York. She also created a program of Group Initiatives to Build Self-Esteem for a women’s shelter and a gay & lesbian youth center in Westchester County, New York. Leading up to her work as a consultant, she spent ten years as an Independent Living Specialist, preparing foster care adolescents to successfully enter adulthood by individual counseling and group workshops on career awareness, nutrition & health, self-care, conflict resolution, communication skills, and human development issues. In this position, Jennifer led outdoor adventure and rock-climbing programs, and spoke nationally at education and social work conferences on the topic of "Enhancing Self-Esteem and Body Image Through Adventure/Challenge Programs". Jennifer received her BA from the University of Connecticut in English and Sociology. Jennifer also leads writer's workshops and has written two screenplays. Recent professional trainings include: Therapeutic Crisis Intervention - NY Foundling Hospital; Courage To Heal Workshop for Working with Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse - SUNY Purchase; Developing Conflict Resolution Strategies, Meeting the Needs of Gay and Lesbian Teenagers - South Bronx Human Development Org.; Assessing Readiness for Independent Living, Helping Resolve Separation & Loss Issues, and Working with the Latino Teenager - at SUNY Stony Brook School of Social Welfare; and Outward Bound of NYC Youth Worker Trainings.
